Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - cjs - 10-24-2010 Who peels their sweet potatoes for fries???? Why the heck do I? I never peel any other kind of tato for them? Hmmmmm - don't have time to start a survey, but I hope I get some quick answers, we're back to mid-day dinner. Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - luvnit - 10-24-2010 I peel them. Don't know why. Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - mjkcooking - 10-24-2010 you know I am probably the only one is the world who doesn't like any sweet potato or yam - Something about the idea of "Sweet" and potatoe just doesn't jive with me. But all the classes I have taken - they always peel them - have you ever tasted a peel - its kind of bitter So a;nyway Jean that my two cents. Marye Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - luvnit - 10-24-2010 You know Marye, I don't really love them either, but my family does. I would never think of them otherwise. I feel left out too. I would love to love them. But I don't. The only recipe I had was fries with chili powder on them. They were tolerable then. But otherwise I can take em or leave em. Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - Gourmet_Mom - 10-24-2010 Jean, to me, the skin on a sweet potato seems thicker and tougher than other types of potatoes. But then I've never tried it. I considered it the last time I made them, but chickened out. Maybe you could test one and let us know. Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - cjs - 10-24-2010 I went ahead and left it on and we loved it! I love leaving them on for the nutritional value, so I'm a convert. Re: Quick Question - Swt. Tato Fries - Gourmet_Mom - 10-24-2010 Good to know, Jean. I'll try that next time. |
