Does anyone make falafel? - Mare749 - 08-06-2011

I've never made this, but my daughter had a falafel wrap the other day and raved about it being soooo good. So, of course I'm curious and have to try it. Does anyone have a favorite recipe for this?

I like them too, but don't think I've ever made them either- huh, hope someone has. Thanks for bringing this one up, Maryann.

Hi,

I have made these a few times. They are not totally traditional but I really liked them.

Also on foodgawker.com there is a bunch of falafel recipes that sound really good.

ALmost any middle eastern store has a mix that you can just add water to and I made those a few times and they came out pretty good.

Haven't made it, but like it. Would certainly try a T&T recipe - the more authentic, the better. Am not entirely against inauthentic, but prefer to start with the real thing before trying what may range from variations to deconstructions to outright bastardisations of any dish.

Hmmm, the one from that website looks pretty good to me! Thanks for posting it, Marina.

I read on another website that these can be baked instead of fried, so I try that. They recommended 30 minutes at 400.
