Holy crap! They're closing down the casinos in Atlantic City at 3 pm today!! That's some serious business!

It's starting to get windy here. We're ready. We've got a generator in case we lose power, but we're not expecting the brunt of the storm until tomorrow night.

My oldest DD is in Boston. Right now I guess it is just rain and high winds there. She's never been anywhere near a hurricaine before. Had her first earthquake the other day too. Sheesh! Hope she is prepared for whatever happens. Sounds like the worst of it will be south of her though.

Hang tight everyone, and what Jean said, Post updates when you can!

Crazy stuff. Earlier on the news they were showing a weird phenomenon - sea foam and it looked like snow! I have never seen anything like that on the news before. I believe it was in NC.

Stay safe everyone.

Re: Bracing for Sandy - labradors - 10-28-2012

Stay safe, Barbara, and everyone else in the area.

Re: Bracing for Sandy - Old Bay - 10-28-2012

Barbara, and everyone else--get plenty of bottled water, batteries, and wine!!! Seriously--take care!!

Re: Bracing for Sandy - labradors - 10-28-2012

Remember: if you do need to use the generator, do NOT run it inside the house, inside the garage or just outside a window. Carbon monoxide is no joke.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Sandy's path - please stay safe and be prepared... and please check in as often as you can to let us know you are okay. (I know from past experience that anything named "Sandy" is liable to be a mean @ss bitc#!)

I've been watching the updates and it gives me chills when I think of how devastating this storm could be.

I must reiterate what Jean said, please post here as you can so we know you're ok. If you're in her direct path, don't be brave get out. Your well being is much more important!
