? for Labs - foodfiend - 09-29-2014 For arepas, can I use masa harina instead of masarepa? Re: ? for Labs - labradors - 10-01-2014 Not that I'm aware. One major difference with masarepa is that it is precooked. If you do make them, note that they do take a while to cook, but that the middles remain soft and creamy and may appear to be underdone when you slice them open. Re: ? for Labs - foodfiend - 10-01-2014 Thanks, I'll look for masarepa at the Latin market next time I am there. Is it in a bag (like masa), or refrigerated (since it is precooked)? Re: ? for Labs - Harborwitch - 10-02-2014 It's in a bag. The usual brands are Goya or P.A.N. I think I need to make arepas soon. Re: ? for Labs - foodfiend - 10-02-2014 Thanks!!
