Wine/Chocolate - Old Bay - 04-03-2016

We received a Gift of powdered chocolate for coating wine glass rims. We just tried it with a medium priced Zin. The smell as you brought the glass to your nose was intoxicating and gives you pause, then the Zin/chocolate flavors as you drink was delicious. I think any rich red wine would work. Give it a try.

So a sweetened powdered chocolate?? Wow, this is something to try, Bill!!

JUST REMEMBERED - Visiting a 'salt' shop in Port Townsend, I picked up a little bag of "Chocolate Sea Salt" = o.k., now I can run a little red wine around the rim and dip the glass in this. I think you've created a monster here, Bill.

How about a little salted caramel gelato with the wine for desert?
P.S. Eat this with a long spoon*(see below).

BLEEEECK!! All we tasted was a mouthful of salt!! Bad idea - but, it was worth trying.

I'll keep this stuff to sprinkle LIGHTLY on chocolate pot de crème......

I'm glad you enjoyed your treat, Bill.
