I was surprised at the prices for various flavors of "candied" bacon when we went to the West Side Market on Sunday. That, along with the smokies started at $9.99 a lb. and went up from there. Sure do save a bit doing it yourself!

Labs, I don't remember seeing Yukon Gold potatoes at the market. Many different colors; red, white, purple, gold, but nothing was labeled Yukon.

I am finally doing our pizza day in honor of Jean. Dough is already in the pan, and sauce is made. Now, to pick a few toppings from the fridge and pantry, and open a bottle of a good red.

One of our favorite potatoes is Huckleberry Gold. They are burple (blue/purple) outside and gold inside. OMG they are beautiful and so tasty.

Labs, I think it's a marketing ploy.  They taste the same to me!  But lately, I've gone back to using Russets.

Thanks Sharon - sounds great.  I looked for Yukons yesterday.  They sign just said "gold", not specifically yukon.

We are just getting Arby's tonight.  My stomach is feeling off and I'm just not in the mood for cooking OR eating.

Hope you feel better soon, T! Tell Tony you need some chicken noodle soup. It cures everything. Wink

I was out all day today. My dad needed to go shopping and errands, and we went out to lunch. (I know, eating out again! Yikes!) I wasn't very hungry for dinner, so just had some soup and heated up l/os for Ron. Nothing exciting, but used up dibs and dabs in the fridge.

Ron is thinking of putting a brisket in the smoker this weekend.
