My cast iron - Half_Baked - 02-16-2007 I've forgotten to tell you how much I'm loving these pans! I re-seasoned my seasoned pans 2x in the oven and they are terrific. I had planned on cooking bacon in each one first but it didn't work out that way and every thing worked perfectly. I did have to turn off the smoke detectors when I seared steaks, though. Man there was a lot of smoke. Re: My cast iron - bjcotton - 02-16-2007 I am so happy they worked out for you Jan...are you having Hal lift them for you? Re: My cast iron - Half_Baked - 02-16-2007 Uh - yeah, Billy. *sneaking off* But now the doc says I can begin to do normal things. Re: My cast iron - Mare749 - 02-16-2007 So glad you like them Jan, they really are wonderful for certain things. Maryann Re: My cast iron - Ron - 02-16-2007 Pretty soon you will be a candidate to buy their 14 pound Dutch Oven. Put a 5# roast in it with some braising liquid and you'll have a gym right at home. Re: My cast iron - Half_Baked - 02-16-2007 Lol, Ron. We can sell them on Home Shopping Network as exercise equipment! The pans really are heavy and I can't begin to imagine the 14# dutch oven, especially when it's filled with a big roast and vegetables. Re: My cast iron - bjcotton - 02-16-2007 Jan, the key word in your Doctor's advice is "begin." My biggest cast iron Dutch oven has the number 10 on the bottom. I don't know how big that is but the racks in my oven won't hold it. They sag so much they fall out. Re: My cast iron - vannin - 02-16-2007 I am so glad they are pleasing you Jan, that is good news. |
