I am technically the Chef's boss but do NOT plan on stepping on toes at all but do plan on learning how EVERYTHING is done so I am welcome to come play on the line. Not full time in the kitchen but it is Monday through Friday "9 to 5" and pays better than I have been paid in years... I know it is off topic but I wanted to share... Re: Greetings from the new boss... - labradors - 03-03-2008 Congratulations! Re: Greetings from the new boss... - Gourmet_Mom - 03-04-2008 WOOOOOHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! You go boooooy! YIPPPEEEE!!!!!!!!! Re: Greetings from the new boss... - DFen911 - 03-04-2008 Holy cow congrats are in order! The Stack reminds me of a Caprese Salad. I would love to try the Salmon the Flat iron steak, and that Maple Leaf Duck breast...oh my mouth is watering! I agree with you on the beers. I just don't classify Corona as beer. You have a very nice wine list. Did I mention that duck dish? I can't wait to hear of how things go! You are going to do fantastic. They are really in good hands. Re: Greetings from the new boss... - Old Bay - 03-04-2008 Congratultions, I'll have a glass of Highland Park. Re: Greetings from the new boss... - firechef - 03-04-2008 The Hotel GM doesn't think I am "ready" for the F&B post yet...oh well. It pays almost as good and on paper the hours are just as good. My responsibilities are just about as high too. Pretty much the "assistant F&B Director" is the job description. At least I will have time for my eyes and broken thumb to heal... BTW...Thanks guys! Re: Greetings from the new boss... - Gourmet_Mom - 03-04-2008 Does this mean things are turning up? I hope so...At least "one of my boys is making good on his dream!" Re: Greetings from the new boss... - HomeCulinarian - 03-04-2008 Yipee! That sounds like a great job. You're back in the saddle and there are good things in your future. If you ever do business with the College of Engineering at ISU, say "hey" to the Dean for me. He's a really great guy and a former colleague who I consider a friend. Re: Greetings from the new boss... - firechef - 03-04-2008 Will do...as you can tell by the "Loc:" on my info I am a big ISU fan and it is nice working at a place technically owned by the school and an alumni trust. Great College of Engineering at ISU so your friend must be very talented... I hope "growing up" with me at this job will help "convince" Kambree to go to ISU and not Iowa or Northern Iowa...not that Dad will put any pressure on her (will offer to pay for higher education if she goes to ISU and will not allow her to do laundry at home if she does not...) lucky for me there is still 17 years and 4 months until she is 18. Re: Greetings from the new boss... - iBcookin - 03-04-2008 Congratulations, LJ! I am so excited for you. So glad things are finally turning your way. And "normal" hours will give you more opportunity to nurture that precious baby. Just wait until you see how those years fly by! |
