Monday Night - What's for dinner? 4/7/2008 - luvnit - 04-07-2008

Well, I was going to make LJ's eggrolls in my garage, but now it's snowing. I wanted it to be warm enough to open the door and temp the neighbors out of their houses to share with us. But they are on the schedule for this week!

Tonight is going to be the C@H meatball recipe. The one thing I rememer is that they were very peppery with the addition of 1 T. ground black pepper. The kids don't like that much pepper. Now, do I have that right? or do I have it written down wrong? 1 T. black pepper?

My son will be happy tonight and all week. He'll have meatballs every day, meatballs in the morning, meatballs in the evening! That's heaven for my little boy

hmmmm, the Greek ones? or one of the others?

We're having Hawaiian beef strips and potato salad with chipoltes (tasted this at Central mkt. last week and really liked the flavor.) Have never added chipoltes to p. salad before. Easy and fast dinner.

Not sure but am thinking of frying some clams that I got "fresh" from a restaurant/market in Des Moines. Maybe them with some homemade steak fries and some salad and a vegetable.

Got some bay scallops in the freezer I might just do those under the broiler with some lemon juice, sea salt, pepper and some butter. Those might go good with the fried clams. Kind of a "combo platter" of fried and broiled...

We are making just the regular meatballs today. I think I will make a double batch and freeze them for a rainy day.

I added the Vietnamese Egg Roll supplies to my grocery list. Hopefully I will be able to make them tomorrow. I can't wait!

KEEP that SNOW up there! That is all I am going to add to this thread for now. It is bad enough that they are calling for snow in the morning on Tuesday. An inch down in Des Moines and nearly 3 inches here.

I'm not cooking out of Cuisine this week. Tonight, plan is for Italian Sausages with white beans and arugula salad.

Not to mention "security" escorts her from the building and "roughs her up a bit" on the way out the door as a few curious on lookers that have not averted their eyes in mock shame peek to see what fate might await them for uttering the same thing...

I think the pilot of the C@H talent show spin off needs a producer and we'll be the first drama/night time soap on Food Network...maybe we can get John Goodman to play me?

I have a collection of cookbooks that have been ignored for a while. I picked a couple different ones out when planning my menu for the week.... trying some old favorites and a couple new things.

C@H is still my "go to" place for recipes. Please don't kick me out of the forum!!!

We would never do that! What do you think of the plot for our "show" though? Anyone in particular we can get to play you in the show?
