Ingredient weights per cup - bjcotton - 07-11-2008 I'm looking for a website that gives weight per cup of things. I've got to have a cup of sliced leeks and I don't know how to measure them. I'll let you know if I find one. If anyone already has one, please let me know. Re: Ingredient weights per cup - cjs - 07-11-2008 1 l b. = 2 cups trimmed, copped; and 1 cup cooked Check out your Food Lover's Companion - it's all in there. Re: Ingredient weights per cup - labradors - 07-11-2008 Try this or this. The first is a little more flexible, but it's good to check each, since they sometimes differ. Re: Ingredient weights per cup - farnfam - 07-11-2008 1 l b. = 2 cups 2 cups = 1 pint So it's true then, that old saying "A Pints a Pound the World Around" ??? Cis Empress for Life Re: Ingredient weights per cup - bjcotton - 07-11-2008 Thanks all. I appreciate the info. PJ Re: Ingredient weights per cup - cjs - 07-12-2008 hmmm, I learned in school only milk, eggs and water held true in that. Re: Ingredient weights per cup - labradors - 07-12-2008 Quote: Yep. It depends upon the density of the ingredients. Certainly a pint of meringue, or the like, would not weigh a pound. LOL! |
