Praise for Tonight Grilling - HomeCulinarian - 08-01-2008 Last night I made the Mojo Brined Pork with fruit salsa and beans and rice. Another winner! The only alternation was I used canned mandarin orange sections in the salsa. Other recipes/menus I've tried from this book, Margarita Flank Steak with bean enchiladas and tomatillo guacamole, Tomato-butter steak and potato cakes, Chili pork tenderloin with sweet potato hash, Grilled chicken with red pepper sauce, Cedar plank salmon with grilled fingerling potatoes, Kofta gyros (also in a regular issue), Drunken pork kababs with Maque choux, Steak and potato skewers with grilled caprese salad, Raspberry chicken with grilled brie croutons, Rubbed & glazed bbq ribs, Grilled turkey tenderloin with balsamic sauce and tomato dressing. And, there are a few more I've marked to try. This is a book worth having if you like to grill! And, no, this isn't a paid advertisement!!! Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - chef_Tab - 08-01-2008 I grill quite often and was debating between that book and the weeknight grilling cookbook. Do you have both? Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - Gourmet_Mom - 08-01-2008 Theresa, several of us debated that when this book came out. I think everyone agreed that the first one had a lot of repeats in the regular magazines and this one did not. For me, I don't have the older issues, so that would not make a difference. But I plan to GET the older issues, so I bought this book instead...Make sense? Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - cjs - 08-01-2008 I have the other one - crap, guess I'll have to get this one also. Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - Trixxee - 08-01-2008 Every single one of those recipes sounds like a winner. Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - chef_Tab - 08-01-2008 Awww, geez, looks like I will be making yet another sacrifice and HAVE to get both! What else can one do? I will just give the hubby a couple of those drunken floats that Jean was "kind" enough to post, and he will let me order anything! Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - Emmasmum - 08-01-2008 I have both and actually think the second one is better Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - HomeCulinarian - 08-01-2008 I have both and agree - the second one is better than the first. Re: Praise for Tonight Grilling - Emmasmum - 08-01-2008 The onion rings on the cover are amazing. We gave loved all we have made from this book. |
