Another recipe that caught my eye for the upcoming weekend for breakfast! It too is from www.theworldwidegourmet.com

Rabanadas - Portuguese Christmas Recipe


Flavors of Portugal

Chef's Note
A recipe from Madame Maria Lourdes, owner of the Beira Mar Restaurant in Cascais. This is a Portuguese version of French toast, traditionally served at Christmas.

Ingredients
- 1baguette loaf of Bread
- 1 egg
- 200 ml (3/4 cup) milk
- Olive oil
- Sugar and cinnamon

Method
1. Cut a baguette into 1 cm (1/2") thick rounds; remove the crusts;
2. dip into an egg beaten with milk - 1 egg to approximately 200 ml (3/4 c.) milk
3. fry in hot olive oil in a skillet for a few seconds on each side
4. drain; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

There are so many ways to twist the cuisines of the world around that all I can say is...Why not???

A side of portuguese sausage would be great with it, no doubt.

You mean this Norwegian has been making Portugese French Toast all her life?
