Shame On Us - cjs - 02-15-2009

We went all out this a.m.!! And it was so tasty. I had planned to do oven-fries to go with the fried clams, but...so, we had fried clams, fries, and batter-fried onion rings.

With 3 or 4 batches of S*x on the beach....

I can't wait to retire!

My arteries are clogging from here, but what a wonderful site this is. But to be fair, the alcohol in the drinks helped...right? That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

You are not helping my current seafood obsession! Fried clams are the only fried seafood I still crave...everything else, I can be satisfied fixing in other ways. You know, I still haven't tried your batter recipe AND William still hasn't put out my trot line....>>>>>picking up phone<<<<<<<

Re: Shame On Us - Lorraine - 02-15-2009

You need to help me out, I've never had fried clams. The whole plate looks fabulous!!

Re: Shame On Us - chef_Tab - 02-15-2009

Denise, I used to say that too till Bill pointed out that it might be even better to be Roy in the next life. Of course I would settle for being Lola at this point, her mom is a good cook too and she has adorable outfits!

Re: Shame On Us - Gourmet_Mom - 02-16-2009

Oh, Lorraine! With no other way to describe them, I'd compare clams to oysters, but much sweeter and a little chewier. I guess their closest cousin would be a mussel, but I've only had mussels once. Clams are locally harvested here, while mussels are not, so I may be way off there.

Are you sure you've never had clams...New England Clam chowder? Clams Casino? Steamers? Oh my!

Very good point! I never thought of that.
