Chinese Steamed Buns - chef_Tab - 03-15-2009 " /> Last night I went over to my friend Laura's house(okey gnocchi) to make the BBQ pork steamed buns together. Laura made the filling and dough from a recipe she got from a Chinese woman. I made the dough from C@H issue 74 and used her filling. Here is a shot of the production. William wants me to do them, but not sure I have time now...but over Easter or the summer I probably will. OOPS! I was posting while you were...LOL! I LOVE the dishes! Re: Chinese Steamed Buns - chef_Tab - 03-15-2009 Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, we could not taste any appreciable difference in the doughs. Since her recipe required 30 mins of kneading, and the C@H recipe calls for only 5 mins of kneading......well you decide! And hers looked better due to technique and skill, not the dough. Gosh, they were so good and filling. I can't imagine them as an appetizer, I could only eat two and I was full. We had a pretty good dessert too, which I will post separately.
