A Quick Appy - farnfam - 08-21-2009 Gosh, I haven't been around here much, sorry. Gotta enjoy summer whenever the North Country decides it's going to be Here's a quick little appy I found, tasty too. Been serving this for Happy Hour on the deck. Slice up a peach or nectarine, about 6 slices per half, wrap each slice with prociutto or ready to serve bacon (this is even faster), position on plate, drizzle with XEVO and a pinch of thyme or parsley. That's all there is to it, I've been chilling the peaches first too. Re: A Quick Appy - Gourmet_Mom - 08-21-2009 Cis, that sounds soooo good! I still haven't tried grilled plums or peaches....I need to hurry! Re: A Quick Appy - HomeCulinarian - 08-21-2009 I've discovered grilled peaches with a balsamic reduction and some greek yogurt! Add some honey if you like sweeter. Re: A Quick Appy - cjs - 08-23-2009 Wow both sound so good and summery!! and I'll add a quick summer drink we heard about and tried last night at a casino on our way home. A fellow was telling the bartender (and I was eavesdropping ) about how to make it. The bartender ran in the kitchen, came back with a cucumber and made one for all of us to try. It's really tasty! and quick. Muddle cucumber and in a martini shaker mix with tequila - that's it. I'm thinking a little basil leaf would not be out of order. A little P.S. here - looking out the window, we are getting new neighbors across the allley!!! Yeah, the house has been vacant for a couple months - and they look like they might be in the mid-fifties. How fun, new friends, I hope. |
