Well, perhaps Minnesota is coming up in the world of food. Recently I found out about The Olive Grove Olive Oil Company here in Minnesota. They make a wonderful line of flavored Balsamic Vinegars ranging from Pomegranate, Red Apple, Black Cherry, Strawberry and Premium White to a Traditional 18-Year Aged that is so smooth you could drink like wine.

And, their olive oils. Poured from Italian stainless steel containers called fustis, you will taste a variety of extra virgin olive oils including Garlic, Basil, Tuscan Herb, Chipotle, Meyer Lemon, Blood Orange, Persian Lime, Picudo, Hojiblanca and many more. All of our oils are first cold-pressed.

They also carry an assortment of truffle oils, gourmet mustards, Italian pastas, sauces, stuffed olives, sea salts, peppercorns, ceramics, hand creams, skin moisturizers and soaps.

Looks like I will be making a trip to this place as soon as I have some $$.

BARBARA!!!! Laura needs to get my name next year! Doesn't that Black Cherry sound delicious? Off to check out the site. Thanks Laura, I think.

Just took a quick look - doesn't this sound good. I think I did something like this not too long ago.
Creamy Goat Cheese Pesto

2 c Packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 c The Olive Grove’s Garlic Olive Oil
1/2 c Grated parmesan cheese
8 oz Fresh goat cheese
1/2 tsp salt

Put the goat cheese, basil, garlic olive oil, parmesan and salt in a food processor or blender and process to a smooth paste.
Serve immediately as a dip, spread or serve over hot pasta.
