What's on the holiday menu for everyone today??
We're going simple here - hot dogs, baked beans and melon

Tonight it's one of my new favorites, Rosemary chicken with grapes & blue cheese and asparagus.

Today is the last party of the weekend. My brother and sister-in-law are leaving. So tonight we will make dinner for my in-laws and my dad. Ron will be grilling ribs. I made red bliss potato salad and we will have baked beans. Watermelon and l/o birthday cassata cake for dessert.

Well, I wanted to make Blane's beef skewers with a choron sauce (finally got to Costco for those steaks) but Tony wants to use up the rest of the sausage from last night and make some marinara sauce for pasta. We will do the skewers tomorrow night.
And for lunch we are re-doing the grilled chicken sandwiches we made the other day - topped with bacon and avocado.

We had guests all weekend. It was a great time, but now that they're gone, we're tired!
I'm going for an easy dinner and my burger craving is continuing, so tonight's selection is
Tuscan Garlic Burgers with Pesto Mayo. I'll also grill some broccolini as a side.

Just one game chickie between us. One. I always buy two, Hubby complains about how small they are, eats only one breast and not wings, thighs, and legs. and I have tons of leftovers. I eat my wings and his wings and there you go. Lots of leftovers. I should buy Jean's leftover book because baked chicken is not a leftover I really like.
But! I do stuff it with half a lime, lemon, orange (maybe a couple segments), a smashed garlic clove, and fresh rosemary. He was to do this on the grill, but I'm baking it in the oven. Will baste with butter and honey. Simple sides of potatoes and Costco's kale/slaw salad. They only have the yellow/white corn hybrid out now and I'm not a fan.
Happy Memorial Day to All!! And if you get a chance to watch "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon, do it. Fantastic movie. Not a dry eye in this house. Nope, not a one.

I agree Barbara - that was a fantastic movie. I cried so hard when motorists followed the escort.

Have not heard of this one, but I'd love to see it.
