Bacon, Mushroom and Gruyere Truffle Pizza

Had a busy schedule a couple days ago and freezer was empty of pizza dough, so after a quick search, I found this pizza dough recipe using my bread machine and I was off and running.

The World's Best Bread Machine Pizza Dough Recipe
1 1/3 cups water (Or 1 Cup Water and 1/3 Cup Flat Beer for better flavor)I used the beer
2 Tbs olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp honey
1/4 teaspoons salt
2 Tbs cornmeal
3 1/2 cups flour
3 T. Vital Wheat Gluten (my addition)
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (I used basil/oregano)
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Add ingredients to machine in the order listed.
Set to “Dough” mode and let the machine run through its cycle.
Once completed, place in greased pan to rise about 20-30 min, and split in half.

Results: the dough is very tasty and super easy to work with. Will use this method again.

Roy is a mushroom fanatic; me, not so much – but the pizza, I have to admit was very good – to the point that no way in hell is he getting my 2 leftovers slices tomorrow for breakfast. He’ll have to be content with his one measly slice.

Oh my goodness. That looks and sounds so delicious.

Jean, did you use the whole recipe for one crust? This pizza looks thicker than what you normally make.

No, I divided into 3 rounds. I liked this one because I 'spiked' the round so the crust was nicely thin but the outside crust puffed up the way I like it.

Does that make sense?

Very pretty! And all my favorite flavors! I still don't remember where or what I did with my bread maker.

Looks delicious Jean! Did you use truffle oil on the top as a garnish? I love mushrooms too, but Gruyere is one my favorites. Your trick with the crust, I like!!

Thanks Bill - yes, I just drizzled the slightest bit over the baked pizza.

I know! I thought I gave it to one of the kids, but none of them remember getting it?
