Dessert Ideas Requested

Good morning! I'm having a small dinner party tomorrow night and am in a recipe picking slump. The meal is going to consist of Teriyaki Fired Beef Lettuce Wraps, and fried rice. Does anyone have any amazing dessert ideas that would go well with this?

Welcome back!

Wow, so many ideas come to mind - most importantly I'm thinking you'll want to keep it light. Here are a few ideas.
I've made the Dessert bars but not the shake (but how easy and good it looks).

Desserts for Asian dinners –
Vanilla ice cream with candied pecans
ginger cookies, of the slice-and-bake variety, with mango sorbet.
Simple crispy cookies (maybe almond?) with sliced fresh pineapple
Lychees and ice cream
A sorbet? coconut sorbet, or pineapple ginger

Hawaiian Dessert Bars - Hawaiian recipe

Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter -- (two sticks) softened
two eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
one (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple -- drained
------------
Filling:
16 oz cream cheese -- softened
6 Tbs sugar
4 Tbs milk
----------
Topping:
2 cups flaked coconut
2 Tbs butter -- melted

1. Preheat the oven to 350°. For the crust, mix together the flour, sugar, and butter until well blended. Press into an ungreased 13 x 9? baking dish. Bake for 10 min.

2. For the filling, combine the cream cheese, sugar, milk, eggs, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl, and beat together until very smooth. Stir in the pineapple until well blended. Spoon over the crust.

3. For the topping, sprinkle the coconut evenly over the filling. Drizzle the butter evenly over the coconut. Bake for about 25 min., or until the coconut is lightly browned. Cool and serve to hungry guests.

4. Tips from Our Test Kitchen: This creamy Hawaiian dessert is great to freeze and keep on hand for last-minute guests.

5. Yield: About 24 Squares.

Orango-Mango Ice Cream Shake - Hawaiian recipe

1 medium-size ripe mango -- peeled, seeded, and chopped
1 cup vanilla ice cream -- softened
1 cup orange Juice
1 cup ice cubes
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a blender, combine all ingredients until smooth.

Yield: Serves 2
Variation: Substitute 1 cup fresh strawberries for mango. Substitute pineapple juice for orange juice, pineapple sherbet for ice cream.
