Re: (...)
Today is our anniversary--#23. I can't believe I'm saying that!!! Anyway--for the past 22 I have always made a duck dinner---why??? Because that is the entree that DH ordered for our first meal as newly weds.
Duck a l'orange
Duchess potatoes
Fresh peas with mint
Green salad with classic vinagrette (hint of mint as well)
Chocolate covered strawberries AND
Dom Perignon
Fantastic meal--always romantic with those candles etc.
I don't want to get too mushy here but.....thought I would share our special dinner.

Happy anniversary! Sounds scrumptious and romantic. I think it's sweet that you celebrate with the same dinner every year.
Enjoy your evening.

Happy "A-Day!" How very romantic.
I like that kind of shared day...says a great deal about you two.
Best wishes for more happy celebrations! (And thanks for sharing.)

Okay Roxanne,
Do give your recipes, mainly just the duck... I like duck but do not fix it very often. I can only get frozen here. DH is a self-employed man, hunting is completely out.

Happy Anniversary Roxanne, how lovely and romantic and thoughtful too.
Does anyone else have an anniversary tradition they'd like to share. Since we're posting special occasion meals, this might be an opportunity to post traditions that weren't necessarily cooked but could include a meal. Is that too off topic?

Thanks to you all for your kind words and wishes!! It is very special to have these moments with that significant other--the years go by soooo very quickly--let's treasure them while we are able to.
Duck recipe will be forthcoming!!
NOT off topic at all, Cis---this would be fun to read--must be tons of thoughts out there!!!
