Leftovers From Cheese Ball

  Re: (...)
Tracie had a cheese ball - the 'with port wine' & cheddar flavor that we didn't get to over the holiday, so used it as a sauce for pasta last night. It was very interesting - added lots of pepper and some pine nuts, but next 'trial' I think I'll add some leftover meat/sausage of some kind. It needed just a little flavor boost, but it turned out to be a good idea when you have some of that cheese left.

Might be good in a soup, too. Like Cuisine's cheeseburger soup?

Ah, how associative the mind can be. As I read that, the meter of it immediately brought to mind "Mama's Got a Squeezebox" - a song I haven't heard in ages. LOL!

Thought the same thing, Labs, although it is on my IPod and I hear it
every other day or so...

Good ideas to use it up. Picky's Mom usually brings one and noone touches it.

" usually brings one and noone touches it. " exactly - getting to be like the fruitcake that travels the earth. Hmmm, maybe leftovers for a fruit cake, too????

I must talk to my niece - I need my mother's fruitcake recipe - its from the 40's and actually wonderful.

I have one of those cheese balls in the fridge - I'm going to have to play with it.
You only live once . . . but if you do it right once should be enough!

Well, I'm glad at least one other person likes fruitcake. My mom used to make it also, and it was yummy!
