T.G.I.F. Dinner, 5/17/13??

What's on the menu for everyone today?

Roy's 'workking' at the winery today, don't know if he'll be home for mid-day dinner, so maybe I'll end up having the semi-charcuterie plate by myself. I made a plum sauce(chutney-like) and a l/o steak bruschetta I wanted to try. May go get some cornichons to make it more so.

P.S. we had one of the most beautiful sunsets last night - it even made the house glow.

10+ lbs. of pork shoulder - now to decide what sausage to make tomorrow - for sure a merquez, we love it.

Also, my bacon is curing - I feel so like Mother Earth today...all I need to do is make some hippy bread!

Gorgeous sunset, Jean!

Not sure what we are having yet. I would like some fish, so heading out to the seafood market now.

Oh good! I was debating on reminding you today or tomorrow. ORB!!! I "bet" you are rooting for Mylute? I just want them to all cross the finish line safely. Yesterday I foolishly watched Barbaro's Preakness replay from several years ago. Heartbreaking. And then I watched Afleet Alex's replay from a few years ago where he almost fell and he still won. All heart these animals.

The Barbaro one was just AWEFUL! I'm setting my reminder. I missed the Derby.

I'm doing a separate thread for our dinner - if you all like to have just a wonderful dinner for 2 or 4 even, hope you'll like it. We were just in heaven!!

Trixxee, you've won over so many of us or at least reawakened the horse racing spirit! Thank you.
