Hey All,
What apparatus do you use to get nice long zest strips from oranges, lemons, and limes?
I have the usual suspects, but they seriously fail and I end up with a lot of juice, pierced skin, and no long, curly strips.
Help!

Well for zest I use a micro plane or the smallest hole on my grater. For curls I use my peeler for wide curls and then slice them if I want small curls.

It's been so long since I've zested anything in strips but I think I usually use a regular old vegetable peeler.

OXO for the long stuff, a micro plane for the finer zest.
OXO zester, works perfect.

I have that! These food peoples must have fake curly strips to use in photographs!
Wah!
Maybe I just need to practice.

I have that one, I have microplanes, and I have a different one - it's in my toolbox in the "basement". I need somethings out of that compartment tomorrow so I will see if I can find it and take a picture.
Just an aside - before we left WA I stuffed a couple lemons and limes in the freezer
I just needed some zest and pulled one of the lemons out and the microplane. Perfection.

Freezing sounds like a cool tip! I'll be trying that! Thanks, Sharon!
