Has anyone tried this type of cooking method with a beef roast of any kind? Basically roast for 7 minutes a pound at 475 (after you have preheated the oven to 500), and then shut the oven off and and then let it sit undisturbed for 2 1/2 hours? The reviews sound pretty positive.

Trixxee, that's almost the method that I use to cook rib-roasts. It's fool proof!

Oh good to know, Blane! I will try it here very soon. I have had a nice medium rare roast beef on the mind lately, with leftovers for french dips of course.
