Tamales! We've done tamales for Christmas Eve dinner for probably the last 18-20 years. About 10 years ago I made them myself from scratch. I can at least say I've done it once. But most likely never again. I see why families have a big gathering and make them.

Later today we will Skype with Joakim's family. Very excited about that Then we start packing and head to S. Calif to see my parents tomorrow morning.

I made tamales a couple of times before and they really are time consuming to make. Have a safe trip Denise.

Tonight I'm cooking a rib roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and asparagus on the side.

Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!

I've never made tamales before, but it's always sounded like a fun group project.

We're having manicotti and Caesar salad tonight.

We are going to Holly and Bob's house tonight. She loves doing Christmas Eve. There will be tons of food, as usual. We got a honey-baked ham, a honey baked turkey breast, appetizers, breads, salads, shrimp cocktail, cocktail meatballs, a cheese ball and of course, cookies. Oh, and lots and lots of wine.
