Monday's Dinner, 3/23/15??

What's on the menu for everyone today??

I have dibs and dabs of things in the freezer, so checking those out. Don't know if I want to drag the grill out for only 2 days, but the weather is so great!

Temecula and Pechanga Resort (Casino complex) is humungous and just gorgeous!! I guess as the food is always cheaper at casinos, so are the RV parks - everyone is supposedly gambling so wonderful rates. Since we don't gamble, we just take advantage of everything.

Do have a list of places/wineries to check out, but sure won't be doing much winery hopping - it's ridiculous the $$$$ California wineries charge for tasting. One is $16.00 for 6 tastes!!!!

Found a couple markets to check out tho, one a meat and one a Mexican, so that'll be fun.

Funny - wine tasting in Temecula was on the first dates Tony and I ever had - about 18 years ago.

And Pechanga RV Resort is the first place we ever took our RV too. LOL. It's been about 6 years since we've been there but it was very, very clean. Immaculate even.

We had breakfast at one of the restaurants in the casino and ordered the prime rib hash. Very good.

Sounds like a very nice RV park, Jean. I wondered about California wineries and if they charge for the wine. We have some here that do, mostly the larger wineries or the ones with restaurants attached. They charge $2 per sample. Very annoying.

Dinner tonight will be Chicken Meatballs Marsala by Michael Symon.

The meatballs are tempting, but I'm not sure. With my back still recovering, and housework screaming at me, I may go with something simple. We'll see!

Lamb shanks with braised veggies. I'm trying to fill Peter up with his favorites before I leave..and maybe freeze a bit?? He is not very kitchen friendly so have to keep it REALLY simple.

Try to keep us posted while you are here, Roxanne. Safe travels!

I just tasted the Chicken Meatballs Marsala. When trying a new recipe, I always make it before "happy hour" ) Tastes pretty good and the house smells wonderful. I put it in a casserole with a lid and it's staying warm in the oven until dinner.

Jasmine rice and steamed broccoli for sides. This will probably be Ron's last week at home before returning to work. So, we will probably be cooking together a lot this week. (He did the shopping for this dish and ground the chicken for me.)

Tony is still gone so another meal to keep it simple. I'm having leftover sausage, potato and cheese frittata with some fresh strawberries on the side.

Michael wants bacon, eggs and toast.

Everyone's dinners sound 1000x better than mine. LOL.
