I think this is the best flavored pizza I’ve ever made!! There was a “DUH” moment (more about that later) – so very simple, but the flavors just worked.
Rubbed the ‘family’ pizza dough with a little olive oil, then layered:
Brushed the dough with a little Blues Hog BBQ Sauce (available thru Amazon.com)
2 oz. each Smoked Gouda & Mozz shredded cheese
Chopped grilled chicken mixed with more of the BBQ sauce
I sprinkled a little freshly grilled corn I had done for a salad tomorrow
Chopped green onions
Topped with Candied Jalapeno peppers.
Now, the DUH moment – this whole pizza was to be an experiment adding Liquid smoke to the pizza dough as I made it…..that was all and good, but. What did I mix with the mozz. cheese?? Smoked Gouda!! But I think the flavor still came thru in the crust, but I’ll have to make another one to test.
