Looking for suggestions please
#8
  Re: (...)
A good friend of ours went into the hospital last Monday to have a heart cath and ended up having triple by-pass surgery on Tuesday. He is hoping to be released today. He is also diabetic.

I would like to take a meal over to them but am having a hard time figuring out what to make. He doesn't like most vegetables, and won't eat brown rice or whole wheat pasta.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated!

Maryann, please do a search on here for -

"Joseph Piscatella"

"Don't Eat Your Heart Out"

"Choices for a Healthy Heart"
These two books have gotten me thru so many times I needed to be VERY careful. These recipes/dishes are healthy enough for a Diabetic, also.

Good Luck - what a good friend you are!!

Not having needed to deal with diabetes, I no help. But you may want to try the diabetes association website.

I saved this thread to copy the recipes. Thanks again!

Just in case you did not see my reply on the other thread...I did order Choices for a Healthy Heart from Amazon.

I still make the Marinara sauce from this book. Just made 2 batches for the freezer last week.

Love several of his recipes!
