but....what cocktail shall we sip with our appys whilst dancing nude on the roof???

Sour Apple Martini
(from a great friend - Gilbear)

1 oz vanilla flavored vodka
1 oz sour apple schnapps
1 splash sweet and sour mix

Shake with crushed ice. Strain into glass. Serve the sour apple martini in a cocktail glass. Garnish with apple slices. (If you have access to watermelon pickles - that is my garnish of choice. ) Roy is more traditional - gin martini w/three olives...

Sour Apple Martinis sound very tempting, a definate try for next weekend.
Here's the one that James makes for us. Very simple and goes well with everything.
3 Key Limes
Shot and a half of Vodka for each of two HighBall Glasses
Key Lime flavored soda (sugar free of course)

Slice Key Limes in half, remove seeds and squeeze out 1 1/2 into each glass. Add Vodka fill with soda. Can be garnished with key lime slices.

Has anyone tried the mojitos from the back of issue 45? I haven't yet - may have to this summer!

Mojito Cocktail
4-6 servings

Muddle
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup fresh mint - roughly chopped
1/2 cup fresh line juice
Add
1 cup white rum
Strain into 4-6 10oz collins glasses
Top witht:
crushed ice
club soda
Garnish with
Fresh mint sprigs and lime slices

To muddle is to crush ingredients into a mash with a muddling tool - or the handle of a wooden spoon.

I haven't made these yet either, but I plan to when my mint gets big enough to pick. Unfortunately my husband hates mint, so I guess I'll have to drink it all by myself...too bad.

We did these mojitos last summer, when mint was full. Very refreshing and pretty with mint leaf garnish.
