Re: (...)
I know I've been in this discussion before...deja vous...
Anyway, I'm going to buy the ingredients to make the Jalapeno beef tomorrow. I just know I've never seen anything at the store labeled "polenta" Okay, I know it's cornmeal, but which one should I get??? What if I don't really have an option with a coarse or fine grind...
I'm perplexed... (i love elipses, in case you couldn't tell...LOL)

Ang, I know the others can direct you more correctly. But honest, I just use the kind of cornmeal that the lady at the bulk food shop sells. It's got to be the most no name of the no name brands, but it's always yummy.

I am pretty sure there was an issue of
C@H that dealt with this, and I will try and find tomorrow - but I think it said basically glorified cornmeal or something like it. I will try and find tomorrow.

my .02 is I don't feel it matters - you'll be able to pay a little more if you find a product labeled "Polenta"

I did find polenta in the Mexican section and 1/4th the size of my cornmeal cost 3x as much.
