Re: (...)
Discovered yesterday that the Truck Farmers' (Jack and Florence) main crops this year are going to be cilantro and basil in the fields and the other herbs in the greenhouses. I think I'm going to be making lots of cilantro pesto and basil pesto. Florence told me to feel free to graze through the greenhouses...Oh Boy! You better believe I'm going to make y'all suffer with all the "stuff" I get to browse through

Hey Billy, remember this one??
CILANTRO CHUTNEY
2 c. cilantro leaves
2-3 jalapeno peppers, seeds and pith removed
1-1/2" wide slice of ginger root, about the thickness of a quarter
3 T. fresh lemon juice
1 t. salt
1 T. ground cumin
1/4 c. shredded unsweetened coconut
Coarsely chop jalapenos. Peel and mince ginger root. Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Process until chunky-smooth. Serve with grilled meats. Makes 3/4 cup.

I searched in my MasterCook just for curiousity and got 553 hits!!! Can you tell I love cilantro? One combination I especially like is cilantro, basil and mint together in a dish.

I had forgotten about that one Jean. Remember the Mango Chutney? I gave my friend John my last pint jar of that a couple of months ago.

Lucky you! Enjoy, enjoy.
Jean, that chutney recipe sounds good, even better that I have the ingredients on hand. Thanks!
