TGIF - What's For Dinner??
#11
  Re: (...)
Happy TGIF to all - wish I had a new drink concoction to fix this afternoon.....hmmmmmmm.

We're having a couple of Cooking Light dishes tonight -
Grilled Pork Chops with Rhubarb Chutney
Almond Rice Pilaf
and more Heirloom crostinis ( )

I'm going over to search that old thread we had last summer on drinks - there were some really good ideas there....

So, what are ya'all having?
Retired and having fun writing cookbooks, tasting wine and sharing recipes with all my friends.

They're going out, and I'm still trying to shake this cold. I'm thinking supper may be Buckley's and a few NeoCitran.

I'm thinking of trying the Cha Cha Churrasco from issue 64, with the Simple Black Beans and Citrus Salsa. I had a hard time getting interested in this issue because I'm not an experienced griller, but I'm learning and getting a little better at it. Tandoori Turkey is next on the list as soon as I get the spices I need.

Both of those are fantastic. I love the churraso, we love them because you can adjust the heat in although I find it actually perfect the way it is. We have not made the salsa yet because husband does not like black beans. And the tandoori is so nice because it is sort of different.

We are having ribs and italian potato salad (from the grilling book)

Happy Friday everyone

I was thinking the same thing, Lorraine. (what Roxanne said) I know it's still summer, but there is nothing as healing as good old- fashioned chicken noodle soup and some down time to relax. Take care of you!!!

Linda, thanks for your input on those recipes. They do sound good!

Lorraine, I'm sorry you're still struggling with that cold. It's not fun to be sick in the summer. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thought I'd do Pork Chops Florentine again, but The Picky One wants a steak sub, so I'll make myself some fried green tomatoes, maybe finish off the asparagus and corn on the cob.

Then again, maybe not. Maybe I'll just have him get me a steak sandwich, too!
