Salmon Spread/Dip With a Twist
#8
  Re: (...)
I swear this is the last post I'm making - I've got to go get something done, even if I am retired!!

For those who like to make a salmon spread for appys, I had some leftover corn in the frig and added it to mine - it is great!!!

If you don't, this is what I put in mine - no recipe just as taste dictates.

Smoked salmon, shredded
cream cheese
creme fraiche (if I have it, if not, a little sour cream, or mayo if it needs thinning a tad)
capers
chives
lemon juice
pinch of cayenne
and now, corn!!

It's really a lovely flavor. We even spread some on halved hard-cooked eggs and it was a nice combination also.

Now, I'm off to make some meatballs and do some washing...

Once again, that seafood/corn connection, just plain works, doesn't it?

Eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww Jean. At the family reunion this weekend my brother, Dave, brought two containers of salmon dip...it was like hogs at a trough. They bugged me until I tasted it and then shudders shook my whole body. What a perfectly nasty taste, for me any way. Lots of people love it and God bless 'em, but..............
Don't wait too long to tell someone you love them.

Thanks, Jean. Duly printed for the weekend.
Practice safe lunch. Use a condiment.
