emergency pie resuscitation

  Re: (...)
quick! I baked this gorgeous apple pie yesterday to bring to t-day dinner at friends today (4 lbs. of apples in a 9" pie). I let it cool completely before covering it to escape the moisture here in Key West, but it's starting to get soggy, and it collapsed a bit. Has anyone a suggestion as how to get the top crust a bit more rigid before a 4:00 P.M. presentation?

I'm no baker, but what if you put it back in the oven to heat it? You can put tin foil around the edges if they darken too quickly. Good luck!

I would brush the top with an egg white lightly beaten and sprinkle a light touch of sugar---put in oven for about 15 minutes at 375 and should work!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Have a nice dinner!!!

Thanx, guys.

The warm oven for 15 minutes did it. Now I'm going to be a star!
