Re: (...)
Hi,
I've been having the darnest time trying to find the cuisinart meat needler mentioned in the april 2008 issue under swiss steak recipe. Anyone else tried to get one of these? The Cuisinart web site doesn't even list it as a product.

Hi John and welcome to the forum! Come back often so you can get acquainted with a lot of nice people here.
I'm interested in that product also, so I looked here:
http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodli...tenderizerThey don't seem to have the cuisinart brand just yet, but the other brands look like they would work just fine.

Hi, John. Welcome to the forum.
I made the Swiss steak last night and didn't invest in the needle tenderizer. I just pounded it out with my good ol' meat mallet. Decided not to invest in another gadget I'd rarely used unless we enjoyed the recipe. Well we liked it a lot. Thumbs up all around the table. Especially the tomato sauce on the goat cheese polenta. We'll make it again. Don't think I need to buy the new gadget because pounding worked just fine.

Now, I never thought of that! Is that what happens with the needler?

Welcome, John,
I have one of those but have only used it for pork. Works great for that!
