Sally, you posted this on one of the what's for dinner threads and I responded, but you didn't check out the thread again - I'm curious how you make your pizza.

"Sally, White Clam pizza!! What do you put on yours - I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours Haven't made it forever!

WHITE CLAM PIZZA

favorite pizza dough
1 Tablespoon oil
1 medium onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
8 ounces fontina or mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
2 10-oz. cans whole baby clams, drained
3 Tablespoons parsley, chopped
Olive oil for drizzling

About 45 min. before serving, cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender but not browned over medium heat.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 425 F. (or prepare grill for grilled pizza)

Sprinkle 3/4 of the cheese over the dough, top with onion mixture.
Bake pizza on bottom rack of oven for 20 min.

Remove pizza from oven and top with clams, parsley and remaining cheese.
Drizzle a little olive oil over top of pizza.

Bake 5 minutes more or until clams are heated through and crust is browned and crisp.

I just noticed the times I had on this recipe (from the 90s) I don't make large pizzas anymore, so times are way different - especially for grilling."

This sounds alot like the white clam sauce we do over linguine, just we don't use cheese and don't drain the clams. Oh and LOTS more garlic, other than that it's the exact same thing

When I made clam linguine the other day I bought whole baby clams in a pouch by Chicken of the Sea. They were tender and they were on sale. There wasn't much liquid however but if you are draining the clams anyway, you might want to try these.

Jean,

You're right I never recheck those threads. I never thought anyone would be interested in that recipe, but yours is the one I used. I love it. I find that I have to brush the crust with olive oil before I use it (I buy a Boboli crust).

I was able to find canned boiled baby clams. Yum Yum.
