Sunday Dinner - 1/2410

  Re: (...)
Hmmmm, today's my ex-husband's birthday...funny where your mind goes.

What is on everyone's agenda for tonight?

I'm doing a 2nd dish with the Comte cheese (one of the three) we rec'd in the monthly cheese shipment. I'm making a really 'bad' dish - Cheesy Baked Penne with Cauliflower and Creme Fraiche. and a green salad.

Hopefully, I can sneak this in as a meatless dinner and he doesn't whine too much.

But, we are being good with our champagne brunch this a.m. Making Tuna, pea & corn frittata, so that counts for something.
Retired and having fun writing cookbooks, tasting wine and sharing recipes with all my friends.

My goodness, Jean! Well, I'm doing my review dinner tonight. I'm going to add some bok choy as another side in hopes it will act as a filler so William won't eat everybody's share of the Scallion Pancakes. I have a feeling that part is going to be too much for him to resist.

I'm playing with knoephla soup - I've got the veggies simmering with two of those sausages (from the pizza), I'll puree part of the soup to thicken it, put the dumplings in and let it simmmer until they're done and then add the sausage back in. I've got some oatmeal potato bread to go with.

It's blowing out of the NW and it's flipping cold! A nice pot of soup sounded good.

We're doing a braised beef short rib/ red wine gravy from Bon Appetit, and a sauteed brocolli rabe with garlic & lemon from Cuisine #79, pg 33. Will report.

Well, I finally got the review dinner served with a side of Bok Choy Stir-Fried in Thai Garlic Sauce. That's all I can say about that!
