I was headed inside a minute ago, and glanced down at one of my "lettuce pots" I keep on the deck. Granted, these should have been planted weeks ago, but hey!

Anyway, I recognized some leaves in there....not the clover...it was some Basil leaves.

I tasted one and it is definitely Basil, but appears to be Purple Basil from TWO summers ago. The leaves are kinda fuzzy and there is a distinct bite to the taste. Could I be wrong? Would regular Basil start out like this? I hope so, but doubt it. I still like it, just not as much.

Wow, I've never had basil come up again - how interesting.
