Not that I'm aware.
One major difference with masarepa is that it is precooked.
If you do make them, note that they do take a while to cook, but that the middles remain soft and creamy and may appear to be underdone when you slice them open.
If blueberry muffins have blueberries in them, what do vegan muffins have?

Thanks, I'll look for masarepa at the Latin market next time I am there. Is it in a bag (like masa), or refrigerated (since it is precooked)?

It's in a bag. The usual brands are Goya or P.A.N. I think I need to make arepas soon.
